Vinterior approached us late 2022 to discuss the collaboration they were planning with Selfridges. A three month pop up in store and online on Selfridges.com.
Vinterior’s overall goal by partnering with Selfridges was to shine a light on second-hand and help continue to influence a nation of conscious consumers.
This is something that we also feel incredibly strongly about promoting.
The Vinterior pop up is part of the Reselfridges circular ecosystem. Through Project Earth, Selfridges sustainability strategy has committed to having 45% of its business coming from circular products and services by 2030.
The in store pop up had a slightly different concept to the online pop up. For the in store, Vinterior would buy items off the 1800 plus dealers they host on their website. They then would curate a space in store to showcase the items they have selected from multiple dealers.
For the online space Vinterior wanted to work with ONE dealer. One dealer out of 1800 dealers. Vinterior chose Bull + Tash. This felt like an amazing opportunity and we truly felt recognised and proud. We regard our vintage collections highly and believe them to be stylish, beautiful and of quality design.
Vinterior then worked on selecting items from our inventory which they felt would represent them best on selfridges.com.
The pop up so far has been very successful. We are over the moon with the response we’ve had and we feel recognised for what we are doing. You can view our collection on Selfridges here.
We feel the narrative behind buying second hand is changing. More people are becoming interested in investing in vintage. Fast fashion also includes the furniture industry. The amount that gets taken to landfill is extremely high. This is because items are made at speed and with cheap materials. Consumers need to be more conscious when purchasing items. Well made items of quality fill you with joy, and when looked after, they can last multiple lifetimes. It is incredible to be working with big names like Selfridges and Vinterior as it allows for a wider reach.
